Planting Trees for a Greener Future

One of the simplest yet most impactful ways we’re supporting the environment is through reforestation. In May 2024, we partnered with One Tree Planted, a nonprofit organization dedicated to global reforestation. Together, we planted 101 trees in the United States, and we are proud to provide monthly ongoing donations to One Tree Planted to support continued reforestation efforts. Each tree we plant is a testament to our commitment to reducing carbon emissions, restoring biodiversity, and creating a greener planet.

Recyclability of Materials

We are addressing concerns about the recyclability of our materials to ensure our products leave minimal environmental impact. Here’s how we’re making it happen:

• Foil and Varnish Recyclability: We employ recyclable materials even in our advanced printing finishes. Our foil is incredibly thin and dissolves during the pulping stage of the recycling process, making it environmentally friendly. Similarly, the varnish we use is a recyclable polymer, the same material commonly found in protective labels on food products. As long as the underlying paper or card is recyclable, the foil and varnish will be recyclable, too.
• Paper and Box Recycling: Our California and Kentucky facilities are committed to recycling all paper and box remnants generated during production. This ensures that leftover materials don’t go to waste but instead get repurposed, reducing landfill contributions.

Using Sustainable Materials

We’re making great strides in incorporating sustainable materials into our operations:

• 95% Recycled Paper: Our paper is 95% recycled, meaning it is biodegradable, recyclable, and elemental chlorine-free, making it a safe and environmentally conscious choice.
• Partnership with GPA Specialty Substrate Solutions: We source a significant portion of our paper from GPA Specialty Substrate Solutions, a company renowned for its commitment to sustainability. GPA holds certificates for Responsible Forestry and FSC.org standards, including FSC Mix and FSC Recycled certifications.
• FSC Chain of Custody Certification: All four of GPA’s locations—Connecticut, Georgia, California, and Texas—are certified to participate in the FSC Chain of Custody Certification. This ensures we can trace our paper back to responsibly managed forests, adding another layer of credibility to our sustainability claims.
